    People don't normally use a full suspension to convert into an e-bike to avoid the issues you had. You should of known this would of been a common problem if you did any research. Comparable range and power with a good prebuilt is a $4,000 starting price compared to $1600 to convert an existing bike that will haul ass.

    This video is such bullshit. It's over 2 years old, it shows an overheating test by Danny Black who even stated in his original video that he doesn't shoot with the camera set up the way it is for the video (he was deliberately trying to get it to overheat). The video address 2 issues. 1: Camera freezing (which is actually the result of using a corrupt SD card or incorrect SD card in your camera). It's easily fixed by A: Buying a proper SD card for your camera. B: Repairing your corrupt SD card. ua-cam.com/video/lAD-rbkTTbo/v-deo.html 2: Camera overheating. Fact is a badly set up camera will overheat and shut down, a properly set up camera won't. This video shows a badly setup Hero 10, Hero 11 and Hero 12 all overheating and shutting down while recording 5.3K 30FPS. The same video then shows a properly setup Hero 10, Hero 11 and Hero 12 all recording until the batteries run out in the same 5.3K 30FPS. ua-cam.com/video/serlsAZPmyU/v-deo.html So there you go, both problems solved.

    There are definitely pros and cons to DIY electric bikes, but the thing that makes me really like DIY electric bikes is that you know what went into making it and if something breaks it’s much easier to swap out. Buying a manufacturer to electric bike it’s really good if you just want some thing that set up and good to go right out of the box but the problem with most manufactured electric bikes is that if something gets damaged it’s a lot harder to replace if at all, especially if a frame gets damaged then the bike is pretty much worthless with a DIY electric bike if the frame gets damaged or gets damaged or something with the electrical system fails, you don’t have to replace the whole thing you can just replace a certain part. Also, I find it really fun to just have a electric bike that I built and even if it looks like crap as long as it performs, great it’s amazing because people won’t want to steal it as much as a beautifully made manufactured bike because they think it looks Janky, but to the owner of the bike they know it’s theirs and it works the way they want it. and finally with doing a DIY electric bike you get the satisfaction you built it. You can’t get with a manufactured bike riding built feels A lot more special than writing something that you paid to someone else to build.

    I own a Revv 1 and use it as my daily commuter to work, and its a great bike imho. First off I live in the city so no rural roads with no shoulder. The top speed is fine more tq. would be welcomed, but the suspension is where I think the short is on the bike. The DRT looks like the solution, but they should have included the turn signals. I find the fact that the Revv 1 FS has turn signals to be one of the greatest safety factors in a city like NY. I have been looking at other moped style bikes like the up coming Nexx lev and the Graffiti. and I also like the Surron and Talaria etc. but i can tell the crack down is coming and I want to stay as close to legal as possible. Unfortunately with the Moto style bikes people are not going to have a leg to stand on, they are off road only. Im would love to purchase this bike but i'm thinking a suspension upgrade is probably more prudent. Please share your thoughts.

    I have fitted a conversion kit to an old bike and it is great! It is a 48V 1000W hub motor fitted on the rear, it has plenty of power for top end speed and a good amount of torque for pulling away, but I am considering adding another hub motor on the front! Given what I have just told you I am guessing you are thinking 'why do you want to do that?' Well it is very simple, every time I go out I try and use the power sparingly trying not to get too lazy! But every time the motor gets too hot and cuts out, usually, and most annoyingly not far from home which is of course on quite a steep hill! So my thinking is that if I have 2 motors driving the bike it will reduce the strain on the single motor which should in theory significantly reduce the likelihood of either motor getting too hot and cutting out!?

    I have the 9, and I still have the 9, not needing to replace it as I have not had a single issue with it. I'm the type that need not update my tech every year with every new iteration. I am waiting, however, for GoPro to increase the size of their sensor. Even then, I might wait 9 months until GoPro drops their price substantially, like they did a few days ago with the 12.

    I was going to order the talaria xxx when I could afford it but with shipping it is nearly 4000 dollars, this is free shipping at 3000 dollars, while this may not be modable with ease i still find it possible to fab stuff up on your own on top of this being so cheap, you save a lot of money. I still want to consider the talaria as I can still mod it better and easier since I have no idea what I am doing but the price point to save nearly 1000 dollars and being somewhat fine with the pricepoint, I find it fair enough... What do you guys things, will this be a good first emoto/ebike to get into? During school time i have to commute a total round trip of about 20 miles, I want it mostly for riding around my town for fun and get to the main part of town too... It would be nice to afford the eride pro ss but that is way out of what I can afford right now, and the surron is also very expensive and to upgrade it is super duper expensive, would it be more worth it to save extra to get the talaria so I have more battery life and better modability, or keep it simple and buy the rawr mantis x to save a couple bucks but loose the ease of modding?

    • @E-drive-vq4fy
      @E-drive-vq4fy 2 дні тому

      I think this will be fine. I understand the mod ability of the xxx and that’s cool but remember mods for performance aren’t cheap. If that’s the case go with the pro ss and save money instead of all the expensive mods. If this is your first e-bike it will be more then enough for awhile. Day and night difference from these and regular 1000 watt e-bikes. I will say you find these specs in any other bike at this price.

      @@E-drive-vq4fy Thank you very much for your input, I think this bike will be more than enough, just I have family that thinks this is a bit sketchy, do you or anyone else find this to be sketchy? I find this pretty legit?

    • @E-drive-vq4fy
      @E-drive-vq4fy 2 дні тому

      @@derpyyume The company is legit, they made 2 bikes before. I think the price is low because they know if it was higher then people would buy a xxx or talaria mx3. I’d assume if this bike does well the price will go up. If this bike outperforms the xxx off-road then they will definitely raise the price. They’re probably making very little profit in order to get into this to market, right now only talaria has the lower budget emoto market. When the xxx was brought to the market it was only 3000 plus tax, now it’s 3150 plus tax and shipping. Things I like about this bike, the battery is interchangeable with the other mantis bike, it has reverse, and has an app to adjust riding style.

    While I'm always glad for more competition I just don't see why anyone would get this over the Talaria triple x. For just barely any more you get a 33% larger battery, 14lbs lighter, same power and top speed, proven bike company and platform with a lot of aftermarket parts. Also looks more like a bicycle and not a motorcycle (personally can't stand how the rawr's look). Unless you really plan to do offroading, but then the MX3 and Surron are just slightly more and will do a lot better as well

    • @revenge680

      Good points, but the top speed of the Mantis X 53 compared to 47 of the Talaria XXX. While that''s not a whole lot, it's going to cost significantly more to get the XXX to that point. Rawrr also claims that this bike will get 62 miles in eco mode, while the XXX claims 50. I'm not a huge fan of how the Rawrrs look either, but I'm even less of a fan of the look of the XXX. Different strokes for different folks I suppose. The one thing I'm really not a fan of is the name "Rawrr." Makes me feel like a child saying it haha.

    The ghost pedaling issue seems more to do with the fact you may have cadence rather than torque-sensing drive. That's not an issue with mid-drives per se. Cadence sensing drives will always go to 100% of the assist level once it senses a pedaling cadence which means at a certain point, you will be spinning faster than you normally would riding a bicycle, barely able to keep up with the motor. On my ebike for me, that's about level 3 out of 5 assist. When I was riding a touring bike, (pre-e-bike era), I rarely spun at over 70 to 80 revs per minute, so it's quite unnatural to routinely go over 80-90 revs per minute on an ebike, but that's how a cadence sensing bike works. If you want to feel like you're in control of the pedaling, you need torque-sensing drives. That being said, many torque-sensing drives today don't include a throttle, which is a mistake IMO. Torque-sensing bike design ASSUMES the rider is always in 100% control of the power output of their legs at all times, which is not necessarily true of elderly riders. Throttles help bridge power output glitches, something young people don't understand at all. And young people are the ones designing these things, which is why the designs are lacking to some extent.
